Normally I don't get militant over comments and credit and such, but this thing took me forever, so it would be very much appreciated - please and thank you :)

ABOUT THIS THEME
My first moodtheme! and it took ages and it's not perfect, but tbh I got sick of working on it and I wanted to use & share it already =P
It's OT3-centric (of course), but features Nina, Herrick, Lauren, Seth, Tully, Gilbert, Bernie & everyone's favourite sarcastic chaplain. Oh and there may be a little Owen & Fleur in there too...so that's basically OT3 + everyone hehe.

ETA 30/04/09 just realised yesterday that there's a missing frame in the 'melancholy' animation *facepalm* I've fixed it, but unless I find problems with one of the others I'm not gonna reupload the zip. Here's the fixed 'melancholy' animation:

ETA 16/06/09 ok, so I may have uploaded the 'embarrassed' animation as 'embarassed'. By which I mean; that is exactly what I did and I feel a fool *facepalm* note to self: check and double check these things next time. Anyway, all that needs doing to fix it is to rename the file with the correct spelling.

It's been a long time since I posted any craft on here, in fact it's been a while since I posted anything creative at all (got some layouts on the way - promise!)
This necklace was indyangel's Christmas present.
The buttons, ribbon and about half of the beads are recycled. The three copper wire beads you can see are handmade and upcycled (I stripped an old electrical cable and used the wire inside to make them).
I haven't made any jewelry in a while, but this is one of my favourite pieces I've made in a long time, and indyangel seemed to like it, which is the most important thing obviously =)

100 icons: Doctor Who 0412 & 0413

Ok, so everyone's probably up to their ears in 4x12-4x13 icons by now =P but here's my contribution.
I managed a very neat 100 in the end, but I probably could have managed 100 more hehe (there was just so much happening, especially in Journey's End, and I love working with Who caps anyway - the colours!)
I like the 4x13 ones best personally =)

The single best and saddest episode of Doctor Who ever.
I don't know whether to squee or cry - so sad but so amazing.
Even Confidential was awesome-yet-sad.

Anybody else feel like their inner fangirl is about to implode from all the Who-induced conflicting emotions? =P

Anyways, icons and what not of the last two episodes obviously on the way... after I've recovered hehe.

Tutorial: 3D-Photo-Effect for icons in LJ layouts

ABOUT THIS TUTORIAL:
This is my first tutorial! I hope it's useful, but if you have any concrit or advice on how to write up or lay out a tutorial then please share - I want to make this, and any future tutorials, as helpful and easy to read/follow as possible =)

This technique does require some CSS, but only minimal knowledge is required and all the codes are provided.

PART 1: THE GRAPHIC

1. Open Fireworks and create a new file. Make the canvas the same colour as the area behind your icon will be.
It doesn’t matter how big the canvas is at this stage – I usually make mine at least 300x300 when doing this.

2. Using the rectangle tool (U) create a square 116x116 pixels. Make the fill effect a diagonal linear gradient going from #ffffff to #e4e4e4.
This will be our photo background.
You can make it bigger or smaller than this if you wish (this size square will give you an 8px border); depending on how big you want the border around your icons to be. But you will need to adjust future steps in this tutorial accordingly.

3. Copy this shape so you have a second square then, on one of the shapes:
» change the fill effect to solid black
» change the opacity to 60%
» add a 4.0 gaussian blur (filters > blur > Gaussian blur)
This is our shadow.

4. Ungroup the black square so it becomes a path. Select the pen tool (P) and click in the middle of the bottom edge of the black square.

5. Using the subselection tool (A) click on this new point (it should be the only solid blue square) and drag it up about 10-12px into the square.

6. Align the two squares (with the shadow on the bottom layer) and then move the shadow 5px right and 6px down.

7. Crop the document, aligning the top and left edge with the corresponding edges of the white/grey square. Make sure you don't cut off any of the shadow. If you followed these instructions exactly, with 116x116 squares, your canvas should be 132x131 pixels.

Icon Dump - May/June 08

EXAMS ARE OVER!! =D
for this year at least, which means I can finally get round to posting all the icons I made ~~whilst procrastinating and avoiding revision~~.

Miscellaneous about sums it up - stock, various tv shows, movies and actors. Some of the batch labelled 'misc' actually date back to around January but I never got round to posting them.

Lots of entries and intended (I have an annoying habit of making icons and forgetting to enter them =/) entries for various icontests. If you're at all interested you can see here which have won awards [there are some, believe it or not =P].

I actually have a few more but they're part of larger batches with the same theme which I plan on finishing ~~fairly~~ soon.

Ok, I wanted a new text alert for my phone, so I was playing around with the audio from the MTV videos...
and I ended up with these 14 soundbites of various cute/funny/significant/etc moments including Robert telling us Edward is "totally hot" as well as Kellan and Nikki singing and the infamous "they've got brooms".

I'm not sure what you'd use them for (alerts on your phone/computer? though you might get a few funny looks if you're phone sings "TWIIIIHAAARDS!" whenever you get a message =P) but here they are anyway - do with them what you will, and enjoy =)

Oh, and I have no excuse for the picture - other than boredom and a frustrating compulsion to avoid anything and everything to do with exam revision xD

LJ Layout - Snapshot [with optional Twilight header]

ABOUT THIS LAYOUT:
OK, so I said my next layout would be non-Twilight related. And it is!
...just with an optional Twilight-related header =P

This layout has a liquid width so it will stretch to fit any resolution and the header image and sidebar are optional.

If you want a header like the one shown (with the 3D-photo-effect to match the icons) but with different pictures then I will happily take requests (obviously links to the pictures you do want would be helpful), though I can't guarantee time scales - it depends how busy RL is.

My favourite part of this layout is probably the icons; I'm quite happy with how the 3D-photo-type-effect-thing came out =)

Feel free to play with the colours and what not - just make sure you still credit me for the original layout code =)
Speaking of which, I would love to take credit for the colours but most of them came from this palette.

Tiny icons were made by _excentric_ and minty_peach .

ABOUT THIS LAYOUT:
This layout is pretty simple (especially when compared to my last one). But that's ok - the most important part is the header after all. AJFJLFKLD:KLDSKSSA teaser trailer!!

I was only gonna make one header originally *points to preview* as this seemed to be the most popular scene in my animated icons. And IMO it looks the best. But I have made two, so you can choose which one to use =)

OK, so there's pretty much no point in posting these as there are 577490578905839 out there already. Unfortunately RL has meant that I am even later than usual in iconing the most recent fandom-frenzy-generator. But I've made them now so I'm gonna post them.
Unfortunately, not getting them out super-quick also means I have no excuse for the simplicity or quality/lack thereof =P but hopefully someone will still find these useful.

They're simple, I know, but THEY'RE NOT BASES so please don't edit =)
(this applies to the animations as well - I know they don't look like much but I have actually altered the colouring, timing etc quite a bit).

Pilot-Episode-Icon-Bonanzathon pt. 2

Ok, so the aim was to make icons for the pilot episodes of all my TV fandoms.
Took longer than I expected and there's quite a variety of different styles, although most are fairly simple. I aimed for at least 20 icons for each show. Some I fell just short on...some I ended up with nearly twice as many =/ typical really...
I think the only shows missing are the Star Treks. Much as I love them I couldn't face doing all of them as well lol. Oh, and Skins, because I plan on icon-ing episodes 9 & 10 after 10 airs tomorrow (and also, it was the last one I had left to do, and I wanted to be able to split the shows in these posts evenly hehe).

Anyways, here they are, finally.
